A Personality Profile Of A Lowrider Accessories Fanatic

Cruising the boulevards on lowrider bikes on a Saturday night is not everyone's idea of a good time but for those who make it a regular event, it's the only way to go. Putting themselves and their machines on display is part of the fun, it creates a spectacle and passersby can't help but watch the parade if a group of lowrider bikes rumbles past. Resembling rebels without a cause in their leather strides and jackets, these guys are actually harmless motorheads who take great pride in their motorcycles and spend a good deal of money and time keeping them in tip top condition. But what's the attraction?

Since the 1950's, when boys from the barrios began lowering their cars as a statement of individualization, there's been a fascination with modifying vehicle suspension to ride low and close to the road. Kids tinkered with bicycles using tools borrowed from their dads and inevitably, bigger kids modified their motorbikes so that they could replicate the fashion. In 1977, Harley Davidson introduced the first of its lowrider bikes in response to the trend and the movement took on a brand new credibility. With its customary high Harley handlebars and trademark chrome accents, this was a chopper with sexiness and personality to spare.

Harley Davidson have always been the leader in the field of lowrider bikes but other makers such as Suzuki, Kawasaki and Yamaha have come on board with their own versions. But the roar of the Harley truly sets the mark.

Some people like racing bikes. While others like to see and feel the pavement. Clearly the choice is an individual one, and should not be taken lightly.
